Case Assessment
Review of available reports, photographs, communications, prior investigative activity, known circumstances, and client objectives.
Missing Persons
OISEA assists families, attorneys, and authorized organizations through case review, lead development, records and open-source research, timeline development, and other appropriate investigative support.
Overview
Missing-person matters can be emotionally difficult, information-dependent, and complicated by incomplete records, conflicting accounts, uncertain timelines, or leads that have not been fully developed.
OISEA provides professional investigative assistance by organizing what is already known, identifying material gaps, developing relevant information, and determining which additional steps may be appropriate.
Every matter is approached with sensitivity, discretion, and respect for the missing person, the client, and others affected by the circumstances.
How OISEA May Assist
The appropriate investigative activities depend on the circumstances, the client’s authority, work already completed, available records, timing, jurisdiction, and agreed scope.
Review of available reports, photographs, communications, prior investigative activity, known circumstances, and client objectives.
Identification, organization, and evaluation of relevant information sources, possible locations, potential witnesses, and investigative leads.
Review of appropriate public records, online information, and other lawful open sources that may contribute to the inquiry.
Organization and comparison of known events, communications, movements, relationships, and other time-sensitive information.
Identification of people who may possess relevant information and appropriate outreach or investigative inquiry when authorized.
Organization of leads, records, findings, and next-step considerations for families, attorneys, organizations, or other authorized parties.
Our Approach
Missing-person matters should not be approached through sensationalism, predetermined conclusions, or unsupported assumptions.
OISEA focuses on what can be reviewed, verified, documented, and responsibly developed into useful investigative direction. Information is considered in context, and unresolved questions remain identified as unresolved.
The objective is to help the client understand what is known, what remains uncertain, and what investigative steps may be reasonable under the circumstances.
Engagement Process
Each matter is different, but a defined process helps establish urgency, organize available information, and direct resources responsibly.
The circumstances, immediate safety concerns, prior reporting, client authority, timing, and requested assistance are reviewed.
Available records, statements, communications, timelines, contacts, and prior leads are collected and organized within the agreed scope.
Information gaps, possible sources, leads, locations, relationships, and appropriate investigative steps are evaluated and developed.
Material findings, unresolved issues, limitations, and appropriate next-step considerations are communicated to the client.
Who We Support
OISEA considers the client’s relationship to the matter, lawful purpose, authority, and requested scope before accepting an engagement.
Structured case review, information organization, lead development, and investigative direction during difficult circumstances.
Attorney-directed investigation and analysis involving missing persons, disputed facts, timelines, witnesses, records, or related case issues.
Matter-specific investigative assistance where the organization or requesting party has an appropriate purpose and authority.
Important Considerations
OISEA provides professional investigative support but is not a law-enforcement agency, emergency service, or substitute for required official reporting.
If someone is missing and there is immediate danger, a child is involved, or urgent circumstances exist, contact 911 or the appropriate law-enforcement agency first. OISEA will not interfere with an active law-enforcement investigation.
A located person’s whereabouts may not be disclosed without consent or other lawful authority. Privacy, safety, legal restrictions, and the circumstances of the matter must be considered.
No investigator can guarantee that a missing person will be located or that a particular result will be achieved. OISEA communicates findings, limitations, and unresolved issues honestly.
Contact OISEA to discuss the circumstances, steps already taken, available information, and whether additional investigative support may be appropriate.
